Dominican Republic

Los Guandules Church Partnership

Pastor Rafelito and Family

Pastor: Francisco “Rafelito” Garcia Rodriguez

Spouse: Griselda

Children: Ruth, Josue and Noemi Doris

Iglesia & Centro De Nutrición

Personal Detail: Rafelito is a 40 year old pastor with a great heart. His wife is very supportive and active in his ministry especially in the area of children’s ministry. They currently rent an apartment in their area of service.

Area Served: Los Guandules is an area of intense poverty on the outskirts of Santiago. This land is not deeded and families live on top of each other on the hillside surrounding a river valley. The area is almost annually affected by flooding.

Past Projects: We provide a monthly salary which enables Rafelito to concentrate on ministry full-time. We have purchased a van for their family to use both personally and for use in ministry. Several years ago, we completed construction of a church building which they used for various forms of worship and a feeding center. We have provided some teaching tools and training, and have done a dental clinic.

Future Projects: Building or finding a house for Rafelito’s family, helping the church expand its ministry in the community, and possibly starting a school.

Phaeton Church Partnership

Pastor Lucne and Family

Pastor: Lucne Jean Pierre

Spouse: Marie

Children: Daughters Nerline and Anjuola

Personal Detail: Lucne is a pastor in his late 40’s. He pastors a congregation of about 200 people in Phaeton, a town on the northern coast of Haiti.

Area Served: Phaeton is a fishing village on the northern coast of Haiti. It is about two hours from the border. The town has a population of approximately 2000 people. The people survive on fishing. Haiti is one of the least developed countries of the world. Travel is difficult due to very poor roads.

Past Projects: We provide a monthly salary, which enables Lucne to concentrate on ministry full-time. We have recently increased his support in order to expand a feeding program he runs out of the church. We have also provided a generator for their church, put in showers and a flush toilet. We recently bought land and this will provide space for future Phaeton church projects. After many years of digging wells, we were able to establish a desalination water system in August 2012 at the church. This is the only clean water source near the village.

Build-Haiti-Title-ver4Future Projects: We purchased new land and are constructing a new church/dormitory and feeding center. Our missions teams have already began work on the foundation of the building. We will also be working to establish sustainable agriculture. Research for this agriculture plan began in 2011 through Common Ground Community Garden in Rockford, IL.

Media Training Camp

This is a very unique branch of our missions here at Northeast. A team of film makers and story tellers from Northeast are actively working with partners in Albania. This video highlights our latest trip partnering with Kenny Haggard of UnedheZoti.net to host a media camp training local ministries and missions organizations to produce high quality videos (on a budget) that clearly communicate Jesus and the Gospel. Check out their website to see some original videos produced by the students.

Serve The City

We have a love and passion for our City! In 2016 we began a partnership with the Rockford Park District to Serve The City by beautifying Blackhawk Park. We look forward to our continued relationships with Rockford and it’s wonderful organizations.

Pregnancy Care Center

We love what the Pregnancy Care Center stands for and seeks to do in our community. This partnership began at the end of 2015 with our Bags of Blessing campaign, and we are excited to see where God will lead us!

Machesney Park

Marquette School Partnership

We love serving in the Marquette Elementary School – packing backpacks, tutoring, painting, serving at their school events.
